Description:

A small book of autographs, notes, and contact information collected by Hattie Corbitt, 1886.

Cultural Narrative:

This Autograph Album belonged to a woman named Hattie Corbett who is believed to be Nez Perce from Kamiah, Idaho. As evidenced by this album she was attending the Indian Training School in Forest Grove, Oregon which was later moved to Salem, Oregon and is now known as Chemawa. From about 1886 to 1889 Hattie's friend's signed their names with some sentiment of friendship which often included their student identification numbers. Sometime later in life Hattie added in dates of death and/or notation of being deceased to the individual authographed pages.
