Site where ’álok’at (Alokat) fell at the c'aynim 'alikinwaaspa (Battle Bear Paw Mountain), at Snake Creek on October 4, 1877. Nez Perce Chief ’álok’at (Alokat), son of Tiwi-teqis (Old Chief Joseph), was the war chief of the wal'wáama (Wallowa band), living in the wal'áwa (Wallowa Valley of Oregon).
