Partners

The Portal provides access to materials from a number of participating local, regional, and national libraries, museums, and archives, as well as from tribal cultural heritage institutions.

Institutional Partners: Materials from all institutional partners are selected through an established selection and review process. Institutional staff (archivists, curators, librarians, etc) prepare “passes” that collect all relevant content they are able to locate. Whenever possible, tribal representatives are brought to the institutions to interact with materials and staff directly. That pass is then reviewed by tribal representatives who both provide feedback to refine future passes, and identify which items in the pass they would like included in the Portal. Items are then digitized as needed and copies are sent to WSU. WSU staff then prepare the items for final review by tribal representatives and finally upload them to the Portal.
